Commercial Driver License

As a condition of employment, applicants considered for positions that require a commercial driver's license (CDL) must sign a release to authorize former employers to provide Miami-Dade County information regarding:

  • controlled substance test results
  • alcohol test results of 0.04 or higher
  • refusals to be tested for alcohol/controlled substances

Applicants whose histories indicate that in the last two years they tested positive for a controlled substance; had an alcohol test results of 0.04 or higher or refused to be tested will be required to submit proof of:

  • subsequent negative test results
  • evaluation by a substance abuse professional
  • rehabilitation
