Miami-Dade County College Internships

The County's college internship program provides college students with the opportunity to work on special projects and/or assignments with teams of professionals in their chosen field.

Internships generally last one semester coinciding with the college's school year. Work schedules are flexible to accommodate class schedules. The County will accommodate student and school requests for longer or shorter periods.

The majority of college internships are non-paid. However, there are areas of specialized study where a paid internship may be available.

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the College Internship Program, the applicant must:

  • Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with an internship requirement. Students who are interested in a non-academic credit internship are welcome to apply.
  • Complete the application 
  • Submit three reference letters from professors/instructors
  • Provide a copy of college transcripts

Application procedure

Only complete application packages will be accepted. Please e-mail completed packages to Miami-Dade County Internship Coordinator or mail them to:

Requesting an Internship

County departments wishing to request a intern should complete the Internship Request form Adobe Acrobat Logo and contact their HR Recruitment Specialist.

Schools interested in developing internship opportunities for their students should e-mail the Miami-Dade County Internship Coordinator.
