Strategic Competencies

Miami-Dade County has identified 16 strategic competencies Adobe Acrobat Logo which are essential for success in County  leadership positions.

These competencies were carefully selected through a series of Executive Leadership Development Focus Group Sessions that were conducted in 2007 by the Johnson A. Edosomwan Leadership Institute of the University of Miami.

Click on the specific competency area to view the definition and a corresponding bibliography of books, manuals, electronic journal articles, and newspaper articles available through the Miami-Dade Public Library System.
