As an eligible Miami-Dade County employee, you are guaranteed group medical, dental, vision coverage as long as you enroll during your initial benefits eligibility, during the annual benefits open enrollment or within 45 days of a status change or HIPAA qualifying event.
Employees eligibility for group benefits.
As an eligible Miami-Dade County employee, you may enroll yourself and eligible dependents for coverage in one of the three medical plans.
As an eligible Miami-Dade County employee, you may enroll yourself and your eligible dependents for dental coverage even if you decline the medical coverage. There are three dental plans available.
The Optix pre-paid vision plan is available to all employees eligible for medical and dental coverage, regardless of union affiliation.
Once the open enrollment period closes, you may add or delete dependents to your health plan only under limited circumstances.
During the year the Benefits Administration Unit works with the County’s health care providers to bring a wide range of health screenings, educational information and health fairs to Miami-Dade County employees.
