The Phoenix Project: a Talent Pipeline for Workers with Disabilities

The Phoenix Project: a Talent Pipeline for Workers with Disabilities was created by the Office of Human Rights and Fair Employment Practices to ensure the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the County's diversity and fair employment initiatives. The project created professional internship opportunities for college/university students who have earned at least 60 credit hours. The internships provide meaningful, supervised practical training and work experience designed to increase participants' sustainable employment opportunities.

Following the internship, one student applied for and was awarded a permanent position with the County due in part to her participation in the Phoenix Project. If you or someone you know is interested in applying for this internship please contact our department at 305-375-2784 for further information.
