Proposed Annexation to the Town of Medley

The Town of Medley has ..led an application to annex the area depicted. As required by Section 20-7 of the Miami-Dade County Code, this letter is to notify you that a public hearing on a boundary change application ..led by the Town of Medley is scheduled for April 13th, 2011, 2:00 PM in front of the Board of County Commissioners Infrastructure and Land Use Committee at the address shown above.

This notice is being provided to all property owners within the proposed annexation area and within 600 feet thereof. All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing.

The current municipal millage rate for the proposed annexation area is the adopted FY 2010-11 unincorporated millage rate of 2.298. If the area were part of the Town of Medley the adopted FY 2010-11 millage rate of 5.65 would be applied, an increase of 3.352 mills, the average property owner would pay an additional $2,700 in municipal taxes.

Proposed Annexation  The first of the three proposed annexation areas is generally bounded on the north by NW 90th Street, on the south by NW 74th Street, on the east by NW 87th Avenue and on the west by NW 97th Avenue. The second of the three areas is generally bounded on the north by NW 122nd Street, on the south by NW 106th Street, on the east by NW 107th Avenue and on the west by the Florida Turnpike. The third area is generally bounded on the north by NW 74th Street, on the south by NW 58th Street, on the east by SR 826 (Palmetto Expressway) and on the west by NW 87th Avenue. This area is within the Urban Development Boundary (UDB). It is generally bounded on the north by NW 74th St. Connector, on the east by SR 826 (Palmetto Expressway), on the south by NW 36th Street and on the west by the City of Miami Springs boundary (NW 67th Avenue).
