Call from anywhere

In Miami-Dade County, you can dial 3-1-1 from any business or home telephone or cell phone.

• If you are outside of the county, or have problems getting through to 3-1-1, you can reach us by dialing 305-468-5900.
• If you are out of the area, dial 888-311-DADE.
• For TDD service dial 305-468-5402.

Your call may be blocked

Some phone systems have Restriction Blocks placed on their phone service. If there is a restriction to block 900/976/411 numbers, this will also block access to 3-1-1.

• If you can dial 4-1-1, you should be able to dial 3-1-1.
• There are charges for placing a call to 4-1-1, however, there is no charge for calls to 3-1-1.

Calling from your computer?

Some people and businesses are using Internet technology to place their phone calls. The Internet Protocol allows voice to be carried over network connections, and this type of connection is referred to as VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol).

• Systems using VoIP do not allow dialing directly to 3-1-1.

Still having problems?

Some phone equipment (like a handset) may have other configuration issues.

• For instance, if the phone is configured to automatically add the area code before dialing a local number, this will prevent the call from going through.
• You should not dial an area code to reach 3-1-1.
• While almost all phone service providers in Miami-Dade County have enabled service to handle 3-1-1 calls, at this time you cannot dial 3-1-1 using Supra Telecom service.
