What type of services can the public get through 3-1-1?
Examples of Service Requests include:
Ordering replacement recycling bins
Asking for a pot hole to be repaired
Reporting a neighborhood code violation like overgrown lots or junk and trash piles
Requesting a stop sign or traffic signal be installed at a busy intersection
Can I call 3-1-1 from any phone?
Any private telephone land line in Miami-Dade County should be able to access 3-1-1. Access from large buildings is limited by the programming of the local system. Currently, pay phones do not allow calls to 3-1-1. As an alternative, you can reach the 3-1-1 system by dialing 305-468-5900. Miami-Dade County has been working with wireless (cell phone) service providers to enable 3-1-1 calls on their systems, and this service is now available.
What are the benefits of 3-1-1?
The 3-1-1 system provides a fast, simple and convenient way for residents to get information on local government services. The delivery of those services will become more efficient and effective by streamlining requests for services and providing case management opportunities. Through the centralized system, residents, departments and government officials will have more accurate and timely information about community needs.
