Fireworks, barbecues, festivities and more...what else could you ask for? Enjoy your patriotic activities on Independence Day, and follow these schedule changes and tips:
Schedule Changes
- Miami-Dade County offices and the Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts will be closed Monday, July 5 in observance of the Fourth of July.
- There is no trash collection on Monday, July 5. Solid Waste customers who usually have their garbage picked up on Mondays should instead place their waste carts at the curb by 7 a.m. Thursday, July 8 for collection.
- Recycling will be collected on Monday, July 5.
- Trash and Recycling Centers, Landfills, Transfer Stations and the Resources Recovery Facility will be closed Sunday, July 4 but open under regular hours Monday, July 5.
- Miami-Dade Transit will operate on July 4th on a regular Sunday schedule. Metrorail will run enhanced service of every 15 minutes southbound after 6 p.m., and northbound after 7 p.m., to accommodate transit riders attending Fourth of July celebrations in downtown Miami. On July 5th there will be regular weekday service with modified schedules for the 95Express routes.

- Celebrate Metrozoo's 30th birthday celebration with $5 admission, music, giveaways and many more surprises!
- Key Biscayne will be hosting its celebration with a traditional parade, a picnic and, of course, fireworks.
- Relax at Palmer Park in South Miami and enjoy the fireworks at night.
- Check out The Barnacle Historic State Park and enjoy a traditional Fourth of July picnic on the grounds of this 19th century pioneer homesite.
- Enjoy musical entertainment and spectacular fireworks over Biscayne Bay in North Miami.
