    Telephone: 3-1-1

Getting Information by Phone the Easy Way

By dialing 3-1-1 you get one-on-one personal service in English, Spanish or Creole that provides the answers you need to questions about government services and programs. The Answer Center is open 6 days a week: Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. (Closed on Sundays and Holidays.)

The service is free - there's no charge for calling 3-1-1, and no area code is needed.

For emergencies like crime in progress, a burning building, or a medical emergency, call 9-1-1. For non-emergency service like questions about property taxes, trash pickups or missing stop signs, call 3-1-1.

From outside of Miami-Dade County, or if you can't reach us by dialing 3-1-1, call 305-468-5900. For TDD service, call 305-468-5402.

Miami-Dade County's 3-1-1 system was launched to the public in 2005 and proved to be especially helpful during the hurricane activations when the center operates 24 hours a day. Using their cell phones to call 3-1-1, residents reported downed trees obstructing traffic and downed traffic lights that needed repair. Problems were plotted on maps that helped managers dispatch crews more efficiently.
