Miami-Dade County Internal Services Department's County Store now holding online auctions for surplus items

(MIAMI, March 11, 2014) – The Miami-Dade County Internal Services Department’s County Store is now conducting online auctions for some of the County’s surplus items.  This service is allowing for a nationwide audience to bid and purchase on Miami-Dade County’s surplus items, such as vehicles and various equipment, that is no longer used or usable for the County’s daily operations.  Sale of surplus items ensures that the County recoups the remaining value of surplus items to the greatest extent possible.

To participate and bid on Miami-Dade County’s online auctions, register with the County’s online auction partner Public Surplus, http://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/miami-dade,fl/browse/home.  There is no cost associated with registering with Public Surplus.  However, bidders will need to register with a credit card to participate in Miami-Dade County online auctions prior to bidding as well as agree to the Terms and Conditions, which will be posted on each auction listing.  Additionally, if bidders don’t have access to a computer, there is one available in the County Store, 980 W. 84th Street, Hialeah, FL 33014, for registration and for placing bids.

To be included on Miami-Dade County’s e-mail list to receive notices for upcoming online auctions, or to receive notices for other sealed bid sales of surplus items, register at http://www.miamidade.gov/internalservices/surplus-property.asp.  Additionally, there are numerous surplus items available for direct purchase by the public at the County Store, which is open from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
