    Applying for a Job
Do I need to register for the Selective Service?

The Military Service Act (50 U.S.C. App. 453.) requires that men ages 18 through 25 register with the Selective Service. Additional information is available from the Selective Service System, Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs, Arlington, VA 22209-2425. They can also be reached at (703) 605-4100 or www.sss.gov.

Miami-Dade County Code Section 2-11.29 requires that all men who are selected for employment with Miami-Dade County provide proof of registration in the service.  Proof must be submitted within 90 days of employment. Registration with the Federal Selective Service System is a condition of continued employment.
