Planning & Performance
The Management Planning and Performance Analysis (MPPA) Division of the Office of Management and Budget is responsible for supporting the County's strategic management framework and acts as an internal consultancy resource for improving governmental efficiency and effectiveness.
Business Plans and Performance Reports
The County has prepared two-year business plans that address identified strategic areas. You will notice that several County departments have responsibilities in a given area. This team approach ensures that the County comprehensively works on the larger issues that matter to the public.
Performance measures are used in all levels of the organization to assess how the County and its departments are achieving the Goals and Objectives listed in the Miami-Dade County Strategic Plan. Performance measures are used to help set priorities, make decisions, and gauge overall success. Selected performance measures are reported in the County’s budgeting documents to help show how taxpayer dollars are being used.
Miami-Dade County is dedicated to improving services and ensuring the best use of available resources. One way the County undertakes this goal is by encouraging problem-solving through rigorous analysis of facts and data. One well regarded analytical approach, called Lean Six Sigma, is being applied throughout County government. Many employees are being trained in this methodology and are using it in their operations.
Management Planning and Performance Analysis provides high quality, impartial management consulting services at a fraction of the cost of an external consulting firm, while bringing to the table an appreciation for the County's unique operating environment.
