The Miami-Dade County Management Trainee Program is a one-year executive level training program which offers participants who are passionate about public service the opportunity to be exposed to management experience in a diverse and complex urban county government, with over 50 departments and 30,000 employees. This program seeks highly motivated and hard working participants who are eager to learn and willing to become the future high-level, executive leaders of the County, as well as make a difference in their community .
The one-year rotational program is designed for participants to watch, learn and work with senior-level management who are leaders in their fields. Participants have the unique opportunity to choose up to five County departments in which they will be directly involved for 10 weeks in the day-to-day operations, as well as special projects requiring research and analysis.
Since 1970, this prestigious program has proven to be a cornerstone in the effort to develop new county executives. In fact, many current executives including the County Manager, three Assistant County Managers and numerous department directors are program alumni.
Participants must possess a Master's Degree in Business or Public Administration, or related field.
