Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez hosts celebration to help The Children & Youth Life Foundation

Toy Drive benefits disadvantaged and disabled children

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez is hosting a holiday celebration and toy drive to benefit disadvantaged and disabled children of The Children and Youth Life Foundation. The celebration takes place on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at 10:00 am, at the Stephen P. Clark Center Lobby, located at 111 NW 1st Street, in Downtown Miami.

"With Christmas just a few days away, we have much to be thankful for - our families, our friends and our health.  I'm especially thankful for everyone that's helping us to spread holiday cheer to these deserving children and their families," said Mayor Gimenez.  "I can think of no better gift this season than putting smiles on the kids' faces."
The event will feature a performance by Transit Expressions, a group of musically and artistically talented Miami-Dade Transit employees; and appearances by Billy the Marlin; Burnie from the Miami Heat; and Miami Dolphins cheerleaders.  Happy Meals and drinks will be distributed by Ronald McDonald and courtesy of McDonald's.
