(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez will visit one of Miami-Dade County's summer camp programs tomorrow, Wednesday, August 1st, at Gwen Cherry Park, 7090 NW 22nd Avenue, in Miami, at 2:00pm.
Mayor Gimenez will be distributing sack-packs filled with back-to-school supplies to all of the children attending summer camp, and will also have a questions and answers session with the kids. All back-to-school supplies are a courtesy of Office Depot and the Office Depot Foundation.
"We have one of the top summer camp programs in the country, which is one of the many services provided by our County parks department to our young residents," said Mayor Gimenez. "This has always been one of my important priorities since these programs support a number of educational and recreational opportunities for families in our community."
Conveniently located at 38 parks throughout Miami-Dade County from June 11th through August 17, 2012, summer camps open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and offer 7:30 a.m. early drop-offs and 6:00 p.m. late pick-up options.
