(MIAMI, December 18, 2011) – Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez and DJ Irie have teamed up with Winn-Dixie stores and a group of local young professionals to host this year’s Mayor’s Annual Holiday Toy Drive, on Wednesday, December 19th, from 6:30pm – 10:00pm, at Segafredo, 1421 South Miami Avenue, in Brickell, benefitting the Irie Foundation and the Kristi House.
All attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped toy to the event. One complimentary drink ticket will be given for every new toy donated.
“I'm excited to team up with DJ Irie, Winn-Dixie, and young professionals from our community to bring some holiday to cheer to needy children," said Mayor Gimenez. "Our obligation to help out those who are less fortunate is a year round commitment, but it takes on added importance during the holiday season and we’re happy to do our part.”
