(MIAMI, June 4, 2013) – Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez will host his first Mayor’s Faith-Based Community Symposium with leaders of various faith-based and community-based organizations on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at the Miami-Dade Community College Wolfson Campus, 300 NE 2nd Avenue, Building 3, in Miami.
The purpose of the symposium is to share information regarding the wide range of programs and critical services that our County provides, while also engaging faith-based organizations, community-based organizations and other community groups in order to strengthen communication and service delivery.
“Our diverse faith-based community has their finger on the pulse of our residents and has unique insight into their various needs,” said Mayor Gimenez. “I’m excited to join them for a discussion about how we can better connect those residents in need with the many services that Miami-Dade County has to offer, as we work to increase overall community engagement.”
In an effort to forge stronger connections between Miami-Dade County and the residents that it serves, Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez will launch Engage305 at the Symposium, which is an initiative that strengthens opportunities for information sharing and partnerships.
