Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez to deliver welcoming remarks at the eMerge Americas forum

eMerge Americas will bring together influential Mayors to help solve the greatest challenges in our cities through the power of innovative thinking and technology


(MIAMI, December 11, 2013) – Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez will deliver welcoming remarks at the eMerge Americas forum taking place on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at 8:30 am, at the Viceroy Hotel, Club 50, 485 Brickell Avenue, Floor, in Miami. 

At the forum, Mayor Gimenez will discuss plans for the Mayoral Innovation Summit he will host in May 2014 in conjunction with the Technology Foundation of the Americas. In addition, the concept of “Smart Cities” will also be addressed, being that it will be a key component of the Mayoral Summit in 2014.  Members of the South Florida Consular Corps and business leaders from South Florida will also be in attendance.  

The eMerge Americas Mayoral Innovation Summit scheduled to take place May 2 - 3, 2014, will bring together 50 of the most prominent mayors from Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as mayors from key cities in the United States, Canada, Spain and the U.K.  In addition, leading-edge technologists as well as global industry leaders from different sectors critical to the positive growth of cities, will also be guest speakers.
