Department of Small Business Development provides certified small businesses access to Marlins Baseball Stadium drawings


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Miami-Dade County's Department of Small Business Development (SBD) is working with the Marlins Baseball Stadium Construction Manager (Hunt/Moss) to ensure that local certified small businesses have access to project drawings as they are developed.

Currently, Design Development Packages are 50 percent complete. Beginning April 1-30 and May 4-29, 2009, certified Small Business Enterprises may review drawings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at:

"Our goal is to ensure that information and opportunity are not obstacles to small business participation," said SBD Director Penelope "Penny" Townsley.  "This will help firms focus their interests and areas of expertise so we can achieve maximum goals."

Access to these drawings will enable certified small businesses to preview the conceptual development of the project to better determine potential work opportunities. To facilitate networking and team-building, businesses certified in small business enterprise programs will also have access to contact information for potential prime and sub-contractors.
