This partnership will also improve trade and commerce among the participating countries.
On August 28, Assistant Secretary Brownfield will take part in a press conference with Mayor of Miami-Dade County Carlos A. Gimenez, County Commissioners, and Members of the South Florida Congressional delegation. A partnership agreement will be signed between PortMiami and the State Department for future cooperation.
On August 29, Assistant Secretary Brownfield will participate in a graduation event for Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) officers and thank the department for its contributions to INL’s programs. Assistant Secretary Brownfield will meet with a group of Haitian National Police officers currently in Miami for MDPD-led training.
INL has partnerships with more than 60 state, county, and local entities around the United States. Partners receive specialized training from the Department of State and develop key international relationships to fight crime in their own communities.
