Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez to deliver remarks at the Beacon Council's annual meeting

(MIAMI, October 23, 2013) – Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez will address attendees of The Beacon Council’s annual meeting on Thursday, October 24, at noon, at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, located at 1601 Collins Avenue. Mayor Gimenez will speak about the importance of the County’s relationship with The Beacon Council as well as investments in programs that attract and retain jobs, businesses and residents.

“My administration is doing everything possible to create the climate of opportunity where jobs and business will not only come and stay in Miami Dade County, but we’re also investing in initiatives that will lead to jobs being created in our community,” said Mayor Gimenez.

About The Beacon Council

The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County's official economic development partnership, is a not-for-profit, public-private organization that focuses on job creation and economic growth by coordinating community-wide programs; promoting minority business and urban economic revitalization; providing assistance to local businesses in their expansion efforts; and marketing Greater Miami throughout the world.

The Beacon Council’s fiscal year culminates with the Annual Meeting, a ceremony highlighting the year’s completed projects and job creation results, as well as the formal introduction of the new Chair of the Board of Directors and Cabinet for the coming fiscal year. Attendees receive a presentation about the national and international companies that have expanded and located into our community, as well as other new initiatives of the organization.
