Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez uses social media to host Budget Town Hall Meetings

(MIAMI, August 12, 2014) – Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez will use social media to host Budget Town Hall Meetings on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Mayor Gimenez will be holding a Facebook meeting from 12 p.m. – 1p.m. and will be streamed live online. The Mayor will also host a Twitter chat from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.

“These town hall meeting are another example of how we are using social media to reach our residents,” said Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “Facebook and Twitter allow our residents to speak directly with us and share their ideas on our budget.”

Residents will be able to ask Mayor Gimenez about the proposed Fiscal Year 2014-2015 County budget, by submitting questions on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #MDCBudget.

In-person town hall meetings will commence on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Aventura City Chambers, where residents will be able to ask Mayor Gimenez and staff about the proposed Fiscal Year 2014-2015 County Budget.
