The Budget, Planning and Grants Management section develops MDFR’s multi-million dollar annual operating budget, multi-year capital plan, Five-Year Services and Financial Plan, and coordinates grants management functions for the department. This area is overseen by MDFR’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), who also is responsible for the Facilities and Construction Division and Planning Section.

• Planning Bureau
  This bureau plans for future operating and capital needs of MDFR and purchases land for future station locations.
   
• Grants Management Bureau
  The Grants Bureau applies for federal, state and foundation grants to augment operating and capital budgets, and manages all grants for contract compliance with federal, state and local laws and guidelines.  This bureau is also responsible for preparing and presenting all federal and state appropriation and legislative requests.
   
• Budget Bureau
  This bureau develops and monitors Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s Operating and Capital Budgets.
   
• Facilities and Construction
  The Facilities and Construction Division oversees all department facilities from the planning, construction and furnishing phases to structural maintenance and protective programs. This division is comprised of two bureaus: Facilities Management, which provides maintenance to 62 facilities, or a total of approximately 520,000 square feet, and Construction Management, which coordinates the design and construction of all new fire rescue stations and facility remodeling.
