Fire Investigations Bureau
Responsible for determining the cause and origin of fires, permitting of open burning, enforcement of illegal burning, enforcement of false fire alarm responses, and training new fire officers in fire investigation policies & procedures. Fire Engineering Bureau
Responsible for plans review for all of unincorporated Miami-Dade County and the municipalities in our jurisdiction for the following commercial occupancy situations:

New construction and/or additions

Interior alterations and/or modifications

Apartment/Condo and/or multi-family dwellings
-
Fire alarm system installation and/or modification
-
Fire sprinkler system installation and/or modification
-
Fire suppression system installation and/or modification
-
Tents and/or Special Events
-
Site plan and/or water main extension for new construction submittals
New Construction Bureau
Responsible for Certificate of Occupancy inspections of all new buildings and businesses, and for inspection of installation of fire alarm and sprinkler systems and other fire suppression systems in the jurisdiction.
Existing Construction Bureau
Responsible for annual life safety inspections and code compliance efforts, complaints, and zoning inspections for occupancies in the jurisdiction.
Code Compliance Bureau
Responsible for complex code compliance and enforcement of fire codes in existing occupancies in the jurisdiction.
Permit Administration Bureau
Responsible for providing clerical support, including processing and billing of inspections and permits, creating and maintaining fire inspection reports, responding to fire prevention record requests, staffing the customer service window, fielding requests for inspections and complaints, processing burn permits and other one-time permits, and issuing annual life safety permits.
Aviation Life Safety Bureau
Responsible for plan reviews, life safety inspections, Certificate of Occupancy inspections, and code compliance efforts for Miami International Airport and auxiliary airports in Miami-Dade County.
Special Events Bureau
