The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) Media & Public Relations Bureau provides lifesaving public safety information to the residents and visitors of Miami-Dade County, while promoting increased community awareness of the many services the department offers.
MDFR's Media & Public Relations Bureau continuously strives to ensure quality local, national and international media coverage of MDFR-related incidents and events 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The bureau oversees all internal and external communications for the department through a variety of media such as news releases, photo images, videos, service brochures, our external public website, a quarterly employee newsletter, and other specialized publications.

The Media & Public Relations Bureau also houses MDFR's state-of-the-art Video Services Unit which is responsible for producing internal training videos, as well as promotional and incident related videos for broadcast.
In addition, the bureau is responsible for coordinating all MDFR events and ceremonies, overseeing employee and public recognition programs, publicizing departmental achievements, maintaining MDFR's photo library, fulfilling media-related public record requests, and assisting outside agencies in promoting fire and life safety related activities.
