This program is designed to teach new and experienced homicide investigators, criminal investigation managers, prosecutors, and medical examiners criteria about different types of sudden, unexpected, and violent deaths. Natural, suicidal, homicidal, and accidental deaths that merit further investigation will be explored in detail. Emphasizing and demonstrating the value of other agencies’ support, the course will show how to team with those involved in death investigations, as well as train in the legal aspects of preparing for and testifying in, cases involving death.
At the conclusion of this program, participants will have an increased understanding, knowledge about, and written information on:

All manner of violent death: blunt trauma, sharp force, cutting, stabbing, suffocation, explosion, fire, electrical, water related, mechanical asphyxia, poison, strangulation.
