Miami-Dade County Teen Court is more than just a sanctioning program. The program also helps to foster positive changes in youth by exposing them to educational experiences through weekly and monthly workshops as well as counseling sessions.
Anger Management
Sessions include assessment and evaluation of the youth's anger and personal control. Participants needing this intervention must take a minimum of five sessions of counseling in order to receive credit for completion.
Ethics
This course focuses on the importance of ethical behavior at school, home, and in the workplace. This course is mandatory for all Teen Court participants.
From Boys to Men
Male participants and volunteers receive information about grooming, fashion, personal hygiene, etiquette, interviewing skills, marriage, etc.
Individual Youth Counseling
Helps youth overcome issues related to peer pressure, substance abuse, conflict management, and other common adolescent adjustments.

Jail Tours and Boot Camps
These mandatory tours facilitated by Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department give Teen Court participants an opportunity to see “real life” behind bars.
Kingian Nonviolence Training
Provides skills to assist in managing conflicts on an interpersonal level. The course helps in minimizing and preventing collective violence, and provides analytical skills that that are useful to prevent the escalation of community conflicts.
Law-related Education Training
Teen Court volunteers interested in serving the court as youth attorneys receive training and are exposed to legal concepts and procedures utilized by Miami-Dade County Teen Court.
Money and Banking
Provides participants with the basics of money management.

Retail Theft Prevention
This workshop is designed specifically for youthful offenders charged with retail/petit theft. Participants discuss the impact that theft has had on business and consumers.
Substance Abuse Preventative Workshop
Group sessions covering aspects of substance abuse including the effect on the individual, the families, and the long-term cost to society.
The Family Empowerment Session
Designed to strengthen families adversely impacted by youth delinquency. These sessions cover effective problem-solving methods, and family character education.

The Parent Involvement Workshop
Helps parents and/or guardians hone their parental skills by interrupting the cycle of criminal and drug delinquency plaguing their children. The workshop addresses issues related to parental stress, improving parenting skills (parenting classes), and parent-child relationship.
The Peer Circle
An intensive group interaction forum that allows peers an opportunity to openly discuss and work through issues unique to adolescents. Some common topics include gang membership, substance abuse, communication, family issues, sexuality (including teen parenting), self-esteem, and life skills (decision-making).
Unique and Beautiful
Female participants and volunteers receive information about personal hygiene, fashion, makeup, table etiquette, marriage etc…
Victim’s Awareness Panel
This workshop is designed to create dialogue between parents or guardians of TC participants regarding the value of forgiveness and restoration. Participants discuss the impact that crime has had on their relationships within the family/community and the transformation process necessary to reconcile and repair lost trust.
