    In the four-year existence of the King Institute, it has received wide spread media exposure as well as local and national recognition including:

    • St. Petersburg's Hand's Across the Bay Award (1995) for sponsoring and organizing a training session for troubled youths in Tampa Bay

    • Detroit's Eureka Communities Organization Award (1995) for service to children and families

    • City of Tallahassee Proclamation (1998) for a race relations initiative established in the city
