Increasingly, governments are faced with the challenge of "doing more with less." Available revenues are finite, and yet they need to be allocated where they are needed most. A strategic plan developed in concert with the people we serve helps us allocate limited resources to the programs and services that matter most to our residents.
Strategic Plan
Simply stated, the Strategic Plan serves as the community's roadmap that will take us from where we are today to where we want to go in the coming years. Having a plan is as important to our future as architectural plans are to building a home.
Business Plans
The purpose of departmental Business Plans is to succinctly communicate the intended accomplishments for each department consistent with the strategic plan for the current and next fiscal year as well as describe any factors which may limit the department's ability to achieve these accomplishments.
Resource Allocation Process
The Management and Budget Division is part of the Office of Strategic Business Management (OSBM) and plays a major role in the implementation of a results-oriented government. The Resource Allocation Process emphasizes departmental program areas, assigning resource allocations to the priority outcomes identified in the strategic plan, linking those allocations to related performance measures and targets, and facilitating performance reporting mechanisms.
