Why do I have to submit a technical certification application?
In order to provide propositional A & E service to Miami-Dade County consultants must obtain technical certification approval as a component of the Pre-Qualification Certification (PQC) process. Firms, including prime consultants and sub consultants in a prime/sub relationship, must maintain an active PQC from the time of proposal submission to completion of the professional service agreement without lapse.
How often does my firm have to submit a Technical Certification application?
Firms must submit renewal application every two years. Recertification application must be submitted 30 days prior to the indicated expiration date or at a maximum of sixty (60) days prior.
How long does the application process take?
The applications are reviewed once a month by the Technical Certification Committee. Please review the calendar for submittal deadlines and meeting schedule dates.
What is the process of replacing a qualifying/certifying agent for an approved technical category?
It is the sole responsibility of a firm to notify OCI within 30 days of such a change. For each category affected, the firm must submit the new agent's license, resume and complete a new Category Information Form. Failure to report said changes to the County may result in the immediate suspension or termination of your firm's PQC certification.
