    Emergency Evacuation Assistance Program

    Last Minute Registrations

Weather conditions may prohibit vehicles from safely transporting last-minute registrants to the Emergency Evacuation Assistance Program (EEAP).  Prior to the arrival of a storm, the Emergency Operations Center will establish a time at which the Answer Center will no longer be able to accept last-minute registrations from residents with special needs.  This time will be announced through local media outlets.

Residents who may need assistance during a storm, should call 3-1-1 to register. The 3-1-1 Answer Center will take your name and contact information to register you with the Emergency Evacuation Assistance Program for future events.

It is important that residents understand that if they are not pre-registered with the EEAP, due to deteriorating weather conditions, it is very likely that they will not be accommodated by the Program late into an evacuation order.  Depending upon the circumstances, last-minute registrants may be accepted at a Special Needs Evacuation Center (SNEC) if they can arrange their own transportation to the SNEC.  However, they must meet the admission criteria, bring all medicines and medical supplies with them, and must be accompanied by a caregiver.  Thus, residents who have not pre-registered with the EEAP are encouraged to seek alternate arrangements with family and friends.
