Since disaster is unpredictable, it is important to consider evacuation and sheltering prior to a mandatory evacuation order. You should try to evacuate to the home of a friend or family member who lives outside of the evacuation zones.  Red Cross Hurricane Evacuation Centers   should be used as a last resort.
