    H1N1 (Swine) Flu Information

    Miami-Dade County continues to monitor the H1N1 Virus (Swine Flu) situation. Residents are urged to stay informed and take preventative measures to reduce the spread of the virus.

    Safety Tips

    • Subscribe now Online Service to the County's pilot program to receive text alerts to cell phones or other mobile devices about significant emergency events

    Take these everyday steps to protect your health:

    • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
    • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
    • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
    • If you get sick with influenza, stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
