    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Recycle Logo Miami-Dade County is launching a new recycling program!

This new curbside recycling program will use convenient "single-stream" recycling, which means that you'll no longer have to separate your recyclable materials. You'll be issued one 65-gallon wheeled cart where you can place all of your recyclable materials, together. You will also be able toNew Recycling Bin  recycle more types of paper than before, and you'll only have to set the cart out every other week. The biggest advantages of this new program are that you no longer have to separate your recyclables and you can now recycle more types of paper products. Recycling has never been easier!

Home Chemical Collection and Electronics Recycling

Miami-Dade County’s Department of Solid Waste Management  is helping to protect Miami-Dade County's fragile environment through its Home Chemical Collection program.  This program provides residents with a free and safe option for disposing of their household chemicals at two collections centers.   When these products are disposed of improperly, they can pollute our drinking water.

Residents can also drop off used electronic equipment for recycling at the Collection Centers and at select Trash and Recycling Center locations, helping to keep these items permanently out of the waste stream.

    Water Conservation

The Water and Sewer Department  is undertaking the largest reclaimed water project ever attempted in Florida.   It is part of a larger alternative 20-year water supply plan worth $1.9 billion and will allow Miami-Dade County to reclaim highly purified wastewater for specific and limited purposes, to reduce withdrawals from our sole source aquifer.   The reclaimed water project is anticipated to produce 170 million gallons per day by 2027.
