Miami-Dade County requires all new development and redevelopment in existing and planned transit corridors and urban centers to be planned and designed to promote transit-oriented development (TOD), and transit use, which mixes residential, retail, office, open space and public uses in a pedestrian-friendly environment that promotes the use of rapid transit services.
