Property Appraiser's Office upgrades Online Property Search Facility

Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser Pedro J. Garcia has announced the latest development to improve the Property Appraiser's website by offering a more modern Property Search Application.

Mr. Garcia says this latest Property Search Application, is not just a new look but provides sharper aerial imagery, better organizes the property information and provides faster data retrieval.

Historically, the property search facility has been one of the most popular features of the Property Appraiser's website.   With the launch of this new 'state of the art' Property Search Application, users will find the new application easier to use and more informative.

To ensure a smooth transition to the newly upgraded facility, the Property Appraiser's Office will offer both the old and new search applications, allowing users time to grow accustomed to the new Property Search.

The Property Search application uses Miami-Dade County's Geographic Information System (GIS), along with data from the Property Appraiser's Office, providing fast property searches based on addresses, names or folio numbers (an individual parcel identifier).

Since taking office in January 2009, Property Appraiser Garcia has pushed for the use of information technologies to better serve the public, in essence moving toward the creation of a Virtual Office. Information technology upgrades since 2009 have included online filing, application tracking, a tax visualizer and Online Notices.
