Filing a late application

The deadline for filing a timely 2008 Homestead Exemption passed on March 1.

Florida law allows property owners to file a late application with the Property Appraisal Department. A $15petition must also be filed with the Value Adjustment Board.

                                       Monday 24th March –  Mid-September 2008
                                       9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
                                       Suite 710, Stephen P. Clark Government Center
                                       111 NW 1st Street, Downtown Miami

There is no charge for filing a late application with the Property Appraisal Department. However, there is a $15 non-refundable fee for filing the petition with the Value Adjustment Board (17th Floor of the Stephen P. Clark Government Center).

NOTE: The property owner must file in person and must have all the required documents.
