Disclosures and Considerations
The purpose of this calculator is to
provide an estimate of real property tax savings based upon
the information you enter. The estimate is only as accurate
as the information entered and it is only an approximation.
The calculator will not provide actual taxes.

The tax rates applied are based on
current adopted millage rates. Future tax rates may change.

The "Outside of Miami-Dade County" location option uses a
generic millage rate of $23 per thousand.

The effects of any savings the will only apply to the
2008 and subsequent tax rolls.

You must qualify for homestead exemption as of January 1st of the
year and apply by March 1st. For additional information and application
forms, please call the Property appraisers office at 305-375-4125.

Please note that any final determination of eligibility
for Homestead Exemption depends on applicable Florida law. (Ref. Ch 193
&196 F.S.)

We assume that no portion of your property is used for
non-homestead purposes. Commercial properties or properties with an
agricultural classification that also contain a homestead exemption
should not rely upon this calculator.

When calculating taxable value and taxes, we assume that
you are entitled only to a homestead exemption. Additional exemptions,
such as but not limited to, Disability, Widows, etc., are not accounted
for in this calculator.

The accuracy of this estimate is dependent upon the
information you enter and the previous year’s millage rates. Millage rates
are annually adopted by ordinance usually by October 8th. The Miami-Dade
County Property Appraiser and Miami-Dade County expressly decline to warrant
the accuracy of the estimates produced by this Save Our Home Portability
Calculator. The property appraiser’s office and Miami-Dade County disclaim
liability for any errors, either by omission or commission, regarding this
calculator and the estimates produced by its use.
