The new $2.3 million Goulds Park Gym is a 22,000 square-foot facility housing an indoor state-of-the-art basketball gym with retractable bleachers. There is also a reception area, administration space, restrooms and parking.

Miami-Dade Commissioner Dennis Moss, in whose district Glouds Park lies, spear-headed the effort to build the gym as part of the community's recovery after Hurricane Andrew. The project was funded in part by the Miami-Dade County Office of Community and Economic Development and Safe Neighborhood Park Bonds.

Future plans for the gym include the addition of two programming wings with space for meetings, additional administration offices, a fitness area, a game room and a storage room.
