Miami-Dade Parks and Miami-Dade County District 8 Commissioner Katy Sorenson will dedicate a new 18-hole miniature golf course at Palmetto Golf Course, 9300 SW 152 Street in Miami, on Wednesday, February 20 at 5:30 p.m.
The Palmetto Mini-Golf Course is half an acre in size and was built to be as close to playing on a real putting green as possible. Children and novices will enjoy the tropical garden theme with over 4,000 plants and over 100 palm trees, a waterfall, 4 ponds, a stream and several obstacles built in for variation and difficulty. True golfers will be able to practice their putting stroke and beginners can practice their skills and be ready for a real putting green.
The course is located at Palmetto Golf Course adjacent to the clubhouse for easy access to the restaurant for special occasions. There is a picnic shelter next to the course that is also available to rent for parties and special occasions while at the mini-golf course.
A grand opening event is scheduled for March 14, 2008 and details of the event will be announced soon.
The course is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The last tee time is 8:45 p.m. The fees are:
- Monday –Thursday: 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. $5; 6 p.m. to closing is $5.75
- Friday: 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. $5; 6 p.m. to closing is $6.
- Saturday and Sunday: $6.
The project cost was $562,000 funded by the Capital Outlay Reserve Fund.
