Miami-Dade County Parks & Skyward Kites Present the 21st Annual ''Kitetoberfest'' Kite Festival at Haulover Park

Sunday, October 20, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.


The skies over Haulover Park will display a marvelous array of colors and figures from hundreds of kites, as the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department and Skyward Kites present the 21st annual “Kitetoberfest” kite festival on Sunday, October 20, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The event will feature paper kite-building classes and kite demonstrations from longtime kite enthusiasts.  In addition, there will be kite-flying competitions for both children and adults.  Prize categories for the kite competitions run the gambit from the highest-flying and most unusual kites to the best homemade kite and the kite with the longest tail.

People of all ages are encouraged to come out to fly their kites, make their own kites for free or purchase an already-made kite.  Shoes with socks recommended for open field activities. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.
