Fall Star Party returns to the Fruit & Spice Park


(MIAMI, October 6, 2014) – Astronomy buffs are invited to the Fall Star Party on Friday, October 10, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at the Fruit and Spice Park located at 24801 SW 187 Avenue in Homestead.  Organized by the Southern Cross Astronomical Society and the Fruit and Spice Park, the free event features the bright Hunters Moon (2 days past full), with Mars and Saturn low in the west, to guide patrons across the autumn sky. The huge summer Triangle in the NW, Andromeda Galaxy in the NE and the Seven Sisters (Pleiades cluster) rising in the NE mi-evening. Also, featured is a moonlight tram tour of the park, campfire and a petting encounter with the Rare Arctic Wolf.  The Southern Cross Astronomical Society will have hi-tech telescopic equipment to guide patrons through an exploration of the stars.  Patrons are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs, and their own marshmallows to roast over the campfire.  Food & Drinks are available for purchase.
