Make a Spooktacular Improvement this Halloween

Thanks to Miami Dade Transit, the Community Image Advisory Board Landscape Committee and Miami-Dade Parks Recreation and Open Spaces Department, Vizcaya Metrorail Station is slated for a landscape upgrade on Friday. October 31 from 8 - 10:30 a.m.

Volunteer to plant hundreds of shrubs and give a treat to this beautiful open space!

Miami Working to Plant One Million Trees by 2020

Miami's Community Image Advisory Board. Chaired by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dennis C. Moss, launched Million Trees Miami in 2011, with a goal of hitting their number by 2020. As of end of 2013, they were at 162,000.

With 838,000 trees to go by 2020, they could use everyone's assistance. So what can Miami's average Joe or Jane do to help the project? You can report any trees you plant and you can also volunteer with a local nonprofit that help with tree plantings. 

Clean Up & Green Up Contest Winners Announced!

Clean Up Green UpOn May 6, the Community Image Advisory Board (CIAB) and the Board of County Commissioners recognized 10 local student artists for helping raise Miami-Dade's environmental consciousness with creative 'Clean Up and Green Up' posters and videos. The winners were selected from more than 1,500 poster and 15 video submissions.

Winners of Beautification and Maintenance Excellence Awards

Miami-Dade Parks Recreation and Open Spaces Department (PROS) and the Community Image Advisory Board (CIAB) recognized county leaders in cleaning and greening achievement at today’s Great Park Summit.

Recipients of the “Beautification and Maintenance Excellence” Awards ranged from a tree advocate to the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority’s “Welcome” Gateway on the Dolphin Expressway. The awards reinforced the significance of investing in beautification and streetscape projects
