Miami-Dade County Parks visitor and nature centers are the best outlets for exploration and hands-on experiences with South Florida’s flora and fauna.
What is a Visitor and Nature Center?
A visitor and nature center is a complex of wild animal and plant sanctuaries, and nature trails with added picnic facilities established in a beautiful natural area. Nature centers offer guided tours and other educational activities for both adults and young ones.
The focus of a visitor and nature center is to inspire a passion for nature and historical resources by providing programs and activities that create meaningful experiences and lead to a better understanding of and connection to the natural world. This is accomplished through informative and well designed exhibits, audio-visual presentations, maps, brochures and additional informative materials.
Please join us by visiting one of our visitor and nature centers, aiding in the effort to preserve our valuable natural assets…and learn something along the way!
