Miami-Dade Parks Division of Leisure Access Services is offering internships for Recreation Therapy/ Therapeutic Recreation students. We are the 5th largest park system in the country and have 7 full-time Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist staff members.

We provide adaptive recreation and community skills programs for people with disabilities throughout Miami-Dade County. Some examples of programs are but not limited to:

• Wheelchair Basketball
• Adaptive Aquatics
• Tandem Biking for the visually impaired
• Adult Programs with developmental disabilities
• Summer Camps
• Wheelchair Tennis
• Goalball, a visually impaired sport.

All of our programs are age and disability specific.

Interns will be responsible for identifying goals, documenting goals, planning activities, leading groups, and providing a safe environment for our participants to enjoy. Paid internships are available for qualified candidates. For more information, contact Leisure Access Services at 305-755-7848.
