    Miami Childrens Hospital
Miami Children’s Hospital is a sponsor of the Miami-Dade Parks Summer Camp Program.

Miami-Dade Parks Fit to Play, Fun for Life summer camp program is designed to help families achieve good health through fun, exhilarating physical activities and wise eating habits.

Over the course of the summer, youth will raise their heart rates as well as excitement levels with dancing, swimming, skating, basketball, jump roping and much more. They will be taught fun active games and exercises that the entire family can do together as they strive for optimal health.

In partnership with Miami Children’s Hospital, Miami-Dade Parks’ recreation leaders will share healthy eating habits and lead kids through activities that will give them energy to enjoy our action-loaded camps.

Our goal is to instill in children a health-oriented way of life. We want them to become Fit to Play so they can have Fun for Life. At the end of the summer, Miami-Dade Parks will celebrate the campers’ fitness success with a carnival featuring rides, games and entertainment.

Campers will continue to enjoy the activities of general and specialty camps and exciting field trips, including visits to Miami Metrozoo, Crandon Park Visitors and Nature Center, Deering Estate at Cutler, Pelican Island and Joseph Caleb Auditorium for Magic City Monday theatre productions.

Parents will enjoy peace of mind knowing their children are playing, learning, and becoming fit in a safe nurturing environment at an affordable cost. Camps run from June 4-August 17 and are open weekdays from 9 a.m-5 p.m. with 7:30 a.m. dropoff and 6 p.m. pickup. For more information, call the listed park.

Disability Services: Children with disabilities are welcome in all programs. Leisure Access staff will assist in mainstreaming qualified children with disabilities into all appropriate summer programs. Sign language interpreters can be scheduled for children who are hearing impaired (request must be made seven days prior to participation). Call 305-755-7848 (v/tdd) to schedule interpreters, to receive assistance in mainstreaming or to request materials in accessible format.

    General Program Camps (ages 6-14)
In Miami-Dade Parks’ general camps, children will be thrilled and challenged by activities such as football, basketball, soccer, tennis, swimming, fencing, arts and crafts, board games and exciting field trips. Campers will participate in a fitness and nutrition program designed to help kids become Fit to Play, so they can have Fun for Life.
