Snake Creek Trail
Snake Creek is a 3.4-mile long, 10-foot wide paved non-motorized shared-use trail (multiple use by various users such as cyclists, pedestrians, in-line skaters, etc...) that extends along the south side of the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) right-of-way of the Snake Creek Canal, between NE Miami Gardens Dr. (NE 185th St.) and Florida's Turnpike (SR 91), creating a contiguous greenway corridor.
It connects with the existing two-mile trail within City of North Miami Beach between NE Miami Gardens Dr. (NE 185th St.) and West Dixie Hwy (NE 22nd Ave.) creating a combined distance of approximately 5.4 miles.
Amenities include two mini-parks with:
- adult fitness stations
- play climbers for tiny tots (ages 2-5)
- rain shelters
- bicycle racks
- trash receptacles
The two mini-parksare located within a widened area of the South Florida Water Management District right-of-way within the City of Miami Gardens municipal limits. One is located between NW 12 Ave. and NW 11 Ct. along NW 202 Ter., and the other between NW 9 Ave. and NW 7 Ave., along NW 202 St.The new corridor includes extensive landscaping, as well as wayfinding and regulatory signage.
