(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Savor the seafood and get rockin’ with the Ruffhouse Jamaican Reggae Band and the “Symphony of Steel”. Discover art and uncover artifacts. It’s the 4th Annual Deering Seafood Festival, Sunday, March 30th from 11am to 6 pm, presented by Golden Rule Seafood.
After last year’s success, we have doubled the line-up of local restaurants and caterers to delight festival-goers with an outstanding array of south Florida’s freshest fish and seafood. Joining Golden Rule Seafood, Ortanique on the Mile, River Oyster Bar, Key West by the Gables, Ana Capri, Fleming, Rodbenders, Shabui, Beaujo’s Catering, Sports Grill, Tropical Palate and Creative Taste Catering. Their delectable selections include everything from fresh stone crabs and grilled dolphin, to garlic blue crabs, fresh crawfish, seafood paella, conch and mountains of shrimp that are steamed, fried, or just peel and eat.
Come on down to the Deering Estate at Cutler, relax on the lush lawn of the biggest backyard on the bay, and enjoy the magical sights and sounds of the Bahamian Junkanoo as their colorful band weaves throughout the Estate. On-going entertainment for all ages includes scenic boat rides on Biscayne Bay aboard the Pelican Island Skipper; professional cooking demos featuring chef’s Cindy Hutson (Ortanique), Damian Gilchrist (Ocean Reef Club), and David Bracha (The River Oyster Bar) plus Ariana Krumpis will host a cooking event just for kids. There will be boundless fun at the Little Shrimp Kids Zone presented by 1st National Bank of South Florida with art activities, an Under the Sea Caterpillar bounce house, a rock wall, and a giant slide; and an Artists’ Village showcasing original paintings and crafts.
Bring your family and friends and plan to spend the day because this event just keeps getting better. At 3 pm the Dragon performs his astonishing show as he limbos six-inches off of the ground followed by the local band, Mr. Nice Guy that closes out the day with classic rock and roll.
