(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
It’s springtime and love is in the air at the 5th Annual Greynolds Love-In, with The Spencer Davis Group appearing in concert singing their hit “Gimme Some Lovin” during this 1960s-themed outdoor festival with live concerts and activities for the whole family, Sunday, May 18, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Greynolds Park, 17530 W. Dixie Highway, N. Miami Beach.

This rock star from Wales who created the famed Spencer Davis Group in 1963 has close to a dozen Top 10 hit songs, including “Somebody Help Me”, “I’m a Man,” “Keep on Runnin,” in addition to the ever-popular “Gimme Some Lovin,” which continues to be broadcast on radio stations across the nation and is featured in numerous motion picture films.  Other groups performing during the Love-In include local rock band Geekus and classic rock group Rewind.

New this year to the Greynolds Love-In is the Spore Project, an art installation by Doug Rhodehamel that involves the participation of the entire community.  During the Love-In, patrons can participate by creating their own “mushroom” using a paper bag (materials will be provided at the event) and joining in the art installation on the fields at Greynolds Park.  For more information on the Spore Project, please visit www.dougrhodehamel.com.

Other activities going on throughout the event include 1960s Costume Contest; vintage car exhibit; Kid’s Fun Zone with games and activities; psychedelic arts and crafts; face painting; food and crafts vendors; and much more.

Sponsors include Miami-Dade County District 4 Commissioner Sally Heyman; Tony Roma’s; Majic 102.7 FM; The Doubletree Ocean Point Resort & Spa; The Miami Herald; Rolling Rock Beer; and Bagels & Company.

Admission is free. There is a $7 parking fee. No coolers allowed. Greynolds Park is located at 17530 W. Dixie Highway, N. Miami Beach. Visit www.GreynoldsLoveIn.org or call 305-945-3425 for more information.
